The terms, without the fog
Using Gadabout Club means agreeing to what follows. We’ve written it to be read, not skimmed past.
What we are
Gadabout Club (gadaboutclub.com) is a planning and money-tracking tool for groups of friends, operated by Croft & Hugh Digital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17207269, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. We help your club organise trips, keep one honest list of who has paid what, and take card payments on your organiser’s behalf.
What we are not
We are not a travel agent, tour operator or package provider. We don’t sell, book or arrange any part of your trip: your group books its own hotels, flights and coaches directly with whoever provides them, and your contract for those is with them, not us. We’re also not a bank or a payment institution: money paid by card goes straight from the payer to the organiser’s own account via Stripe, and it never sits with us at any point.
Money, refunds and drop-outs
Because payments go directly to your organiser, refunds come from them too, exactly as they would if you’d handed over cash. If someone drops out or a trip changes, settling up is a matter for the group; our job is keeping the record straight so that’s easy rather than an argument. Card payments are processed by Stripe under their own terms.
If you run a club
You’re responsible for what you set up: the amounts you ask for, the accuracy of the trip details, and only adding people who’d expect to be added. Money your club pays you through the site is yours to manage on the group’s behalf; we don’t supervise what it’s spent on and couldn’t claw it back if it went astray, so clubs should be built on the same trust they already run on.
Fair use and behaviour
Use the site for genuine group trips and events. No collecting money under false pretences, no adding people who’ve asked not to be added, nothing unlawful. We can suspend clubs that abuse the service or other people.
What it costs
During early access, Gadabout Club is free to use. Clubs created before 1 September 2026 are founding clubs: their first year is free in full. After early access, running a club will cost £39 a year, paid by the organiser, with unlimited trips and members, and your first trip is free. We’ll say so clearly and in advance, and nothing will start costing money without you choosing it. Card payments carry a processing cost of about 1.5% plus 20p per payment, deducted before the money reaches the organiser’s bank, the same as any card machine. Cash and bank transfers cost nothing.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep the site accurate, available and safe, but we can’t accept liability for the trips themselves: bookings, cancellations, or money matters between members of a group. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that can’t be limited. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
